We value our life together. Each month we create intentional space to cultivate meaningful relationships with each other.
We gather each week to sing songs, learn from the Scriptures, and share about our lives with one another.
We love our neighborhood. One of the ways that we do that is through our partnership with the Lighthouse.
CURRENT SERMON SERIES
PRAYING THE PSALMS
In the center of our Scriptures is a peculiar set of texts that contain everything from wondrous praise of our Creator, to celebrations of life’s greatest moments, to passionate pleas for vengeance. This peculiar set of texts is known as The Psalms. Biblical scholar Walter Brueggemann suggests that there are three general themes within the Psalms: psalms of orientation, psalms of disorientation, and psalms of new orientation. Likewise, he suggests that “the flow of human life characteristically is located either in the actual experience of one of those settings or is in movement from one to another.” Throughout this series, we will be exploring these different types of psalms and the role that they can place in our life of faith.
